Quick Thought – Sunday, July 19, 2026: Rosetta Stone—Understanding Scripture Through the Holy Spirit
For centuries, Egyptian hieroglyphs remained a mystery until the Rosetta Stone provided the key scholars needed. Scripture can also seem confusing or distant, but the Holy Spirit illuminates God’s Word and helps us understand its spiritual truth. Continue reading
I’m Inspired By the People Who Take Away My Excuses
Some people inspire us not because their lives are easy, but because they keep showing up when life gives them every reason not to. Their example reminds me how much I have — and how few excuses I really have. Continue reading
The Story Between the Lines: The Silence Behind the Voice
Before he became one of the most recognizable voices in the world, he was a boy named Jimmy who struggled to speak at all. His story reminds us that sometimes the thing the world remembers us for is the very thing we once thought was broken. Continue reading
Beach or Mountains? The Beauty of Choosing Your Kind of Peace
Whether it’s the warm sand and steady rhythm of the waves or the crisp air and sweeping vistas of the mountains, both places offer a different kind of peace. Some days call for the beach, others for the mountains—and the real gift is having the choice. Continue reading

The Dreamer Who Dug Out the Muck
I’ve admired Walt Disney for as long as I can remember—maybe because I got to walk through the Magic Kingdom before it opened, or maybe because I’ve always been drawn to people who imagine worlds that don’t yet exist. If I could meet any historical figure, he’d be the one. After all, he’s the man who looked at Florida’s muddy lakes and simply said, “Not in my park,” then built magic from the ground up. Instinct vs. Discernment: Who Gets the Final Say?
I don’t automatically trust my instincts. They feel too raw, too reactive, too animal. Instead, I’d rather be guided by discernment — the kind that comes through Scripture, reflection, and the Holy Spirit rather than impulse or emotion. Continue reading

The Dream That Ages Like Bourbon
If I were guaranteed not to fail, I’d build something equal parts distillery and dream factory — a place where words and whiskey flow with the same kind of honest craftsmanship. Imagine a small compound tucked somewhere in the Kentucky … Continue reading

Art That Speaks My Language
Art comes in many forms. Some use paint, others use words, and some use sound. From Renoir and Monet to Poe, Twain, and the sounds of Toto and Steely Dan, art at its best moves us and stays with us long after the moment has passed. Continue reading

Quick Thought – Saturday, July 19, 2025: Rosetta Stone
Read 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14 Reflect Imagine repeatedly … Continue reading

Why complain?
Honestly, I try my best not to complain. I’m sure I’m guilty of it from time to time, but I never want anyone to be able to catch me complaining about something so often that it stands out. “I really … Continue reading
