Picking Every Bowl: Hawai’i Bowl, Memphis vs. Hawai’i (CANCELLED)

East Post Hawai’i Bowl
December 24
Memphis (6-6) vs. Hawai’i (6-7), Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex, Honolulu, 8 p.m., ESPN
Memphis -8.5 – O/U 55.5

Had this game actually been played, we would have told you that Hawai’i doesn’t lose often at home. The great thing about being able to play in this bowl is that (1) Hawai’i gets a decided home advantage and (2) the opponent and its fans get an incredible Christmas trip. Even with a loss, the opponent wins because they lose the game in paradise. And we would have told you that Memphis wasn’t having such a great season anyway and that Hawai’i was likely to control the tempo of the game from the outset. And our prediction would have been…
Prediction: Hawai’i 38-34 … but instead it’s…
Result: Canceled due to COVID-19 concerns

Record:
Bowl season: SU – 8-7; ATS – 5-10-0; O/U – 7-8-0
Overall: SU – 602-189; ATS – 374-331-6; O/U – 340-359-12
