A new No. 1 hit has risen to the top as the American country chart resumes its usual merry-go-round of weekly hits. This week’s top song is Dan + Shay’s “Glad You Exist,” which easily moved past last week’s top song, Chase Rice’s “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” into the lead spot. “Glad You Exist” is the year’s 16th No. 1 hit, and it’s the fifth song to claim the top of the chart in the last seven weeks. The entire Top 5 was jumbled as Luke Bryan’s “Waves” and Lainey Wilson’s “Things a Man Oughta Know” both moved up one spot to No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. “We Didn’t Have Much” by Justin Moore is new entry in the Top 5 this week.
Cole Swindell’s “Single Saturday Night,” which held No. 1 for three weeks and was No. 2 a week ago, fell out of the Top 5 and Top 10 all the way to No. 13. It had been in the Top 5 since June 23.
There was one notable exit from the chart this week. Miranda Lambert’s “Settling Down,” which had been on the country chart for 32 weeks, was holding on at No. 39 a week ago but finally exited this week. The song had been on the chart since we started tracking on January 6, and it peaked at No. 5.
