As a surge of new songs flooded the bottom of the Christian chart, there was again no change at the top. Crowder’s “Good God Almighty” may have been challenged by tobyMac’s “Help Is On the Way (Maybe Midnight),” but that challenge resulted in the same 1-2 order as the week before. The gap between the two songs, however, narrowed considerably, with less than a 1 percent difference separating the two. Zach Williams’ “Less Like Me” continued to hold the No. 3 position, while “Amen” by For KING and Country surged in to the No. 4 slot. MercyMe’s “Say I Won’t” rounded out the Top 5.
Two songs that spent most of the past five months on the chart exited it this week. Jeremy Camp’s “Out of My Hands,” which had peaked at No. 2, left the Top 40 after 20 weeks. Danny Gokey’s “New Day,” a former Top 10 song, dropped off of the chart after 19 weeks.
Two songs fell significantly – Danny Gokey’s “New Day” (down eight to No. 24) and Jeremy Camp’s “Out of My Hands” (down 23 to No. 35) – and are likely only a week or two from exiting the chart. At the same time, five songs jumped jumps of four or more spots. “Be Alright” – the collaboration between Evan Craft, Danny Gokey and Redimi 2 – moved up four from No. 16 to No. 12. “My Jesus” by Anne Wilson soared 14 spots from No. 34 to No. 20. “Look What You’ve Done” by Tasha Layton edged up four spots from No. 30 to No. 26. “Rest On Us” by Maverick City Music leaped seven spots from No. 36 to No. 29. And “Move Your Heart” by Maverick City Music surged four spots from No. 39 to No. 35.
Four songs made their debut this week, and two other re-entered the chart. Phil Wickham’s “House of the Lord” (No. 33), Blanca’s “Even At My Worst” (No. 34), Nonah’s “Jump” (No. 37) and Aaron Cole’s “Like You” (No. 39) all made their first appearance this week, while Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude” (No. 38) and “Talking to Jesus” by Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music (No. 40) both made re-entries.
