Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” was involved in another narrow contest for the No. 1 spot, but lost this week to The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears,” which reached the top after 10 weeks in the Top 3. The battle came to within 1 percent, but ultimately the strong airplay numbers for “Save Your Tears” made it 2021’s fifth song to claim No. 1. Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open,” Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” and Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” rounded out the Top 5.
Five songs made big moves forward of five spots or more, and two of those made enormous jumps. Young Thug’s “Solid” jumped a massive 19 spots from No. 36 to No. 17, while Gabby Barrett’s “The Good Ones” leaped 11 spots from No. 40 to No. 29. The other big movers were Giveon’s “Heartbreak Anniversary” (up five from No. 20 to No. 15), Drake’s “Wants and Needs” (up five from No. 37 to No. 32) and Lil Baby’s “On Me” (up five from No. 38 to No. 33).
Just one song debuted on the chart this week – “Ski,” by Young Thug, which jumped into the chart at No. 25. Spottemgottem’s “Beat Box” re-entered the chart at No. 36 after two weeks away.
