I Didn’t Wear Pads — I Wore a Headdress… and Later, a Kilt
My first team wasn’t the marching band—but it was the only team I had in high school. We practiced in the heat, competed nationally, and performed under stadium lights right next to football games. We also wore some truly unforgettable uniforms, including a homemade Indian headdress (mine resembled a deceased chicken) and, later, full Scottish regalia—yes, including a kilt. Mascot and Colors (Apparently That’s Enough)
Monday’s WordPress question asks for a mascot and team colors—without bothering to specify the sport, the city, or even the logic behind the choice. So naturally, I tried to be responsible, worked backward, explored several ridiculous sports, enhanced flag football beyond necessity, and only then picked a mascot.
