Honestly, I could make a long list here. My curiosity doesn’t really know how to sit still.

For starters, I’m a teacher, so I always want to know more about the world my students are stepping into. How the news is changing. How social media shapes the way they see truth and fiction. How AI is going to affect the way we tell stories and share information. These are things I want to keep up with, not just for me, but for them.

Then there’s bourbon. I know, shocker. I’ve learned a lot already, but the deeper I go, the more I realize how much I don’t know. I’d love to get a better handle on the smaller craft distilleries, the international whiskey scene, and even the science—what’s happening in the barrel that makes one pour taste like dark chocolate and another like bright cherries?

I’d also put Scripture on that list. I’ve spent most of my life as a Christian, but I still feel like I barely know the source document. There are layers of history, poetry, and wisdom in the Bible that I’ve only scratched the surface of. I want to keep digging in—not just for head knowledge, but because it shapes the way I live.

And of course, there’s writing. Storytelling has always been the thread tying my life together—whether it’s in the classroom, on my blog, or in my own fiction. I’d like to keep learning about why some stories stand the test of time, and how to better help young writers find their own voices.

On a more personal level, I’d love to be better informed about balance—how to handle stress without letting it run the show, how to keep growing in my faith, and how to make sure I’m giving my best to the people who matter most.

So yeah, the short answer is: I want to be informed about the things that make me a better teacher, writer, husband, dad, Christian, and friend. And if I pick up a few extra bourbon facts along the way… well, nobody’s complaining.
