My dog is the queen of begging. I love her dearly, but she cannot help herself when it comes to sitting and staring at us when we eat. It doesn’t matter how many times we correct her, she always comes back for more. And she’s good at it. She will stare at us eating food and cock her head and try to make us feel bad for not sharing with her. My stepson had a dog with the same breed and she eventually learned that when I said, “Not yours,” that was the signal to get away from us and go lie down somewhere. But my beautiful, stupid dog does not seem capable of learning that command or taking that hint.
