As the year ended, Dustin Lynch owned the top of the chart for the month of December, having held No. 1 for four straight weeks. With the curtain rising on the new year, Lynch now owns the first No. 1 song of 2022 with his duet with MacKenzie Porter, “Thinking ‘Bout You.” Close behind was Jordan Davis with “Buy Dirt” at No. 2, followed by “You Should Probably Leave” by Chris Stapleton at No. 3. Michael Ray’s “Whiskey and Rain” and Morgan Wallen’s “Sand In My Boots” round out the rest of the Top 5.
Kenny Chesney’s “Knowing You” (year-end No. 23) fell out of the Top 40, having spent 34 weeks on the chart since April 28. Also falling from the Top 40 was Priscilla Block’s “Just About Over You” (year-end No. 54). Block’s hit peaked at No. 14 and spent 39 weeks in the Top 40, debuting on February 24.
