WordPress Asked Again… So Here’s My Exercise Answer, Repeated for Their Convenience
WordPress asked a question today they already asked back in October. I don’t like to repeat myself — unless I have to — but if they’re going to recycle prompts, I might as well recycle my truths, including my love of bourbon curls. Continue reading

The Owl in Me: Why Nighttime Always Wins
I’m definitely a night person — the kind who always thinks there’s one more thing I can finish before bed. That “just one more task” mindset keeps me up like an owl and has me greeting the next morning like a man still buffering. Continue reading

The Exercise That Doesn’t Feel Like Exercise
I’ve never loved exercise for its own sake. I like it best when I don’t notice I’m doing it — when I’m refereeing football, chasing a play down the sideline, or just living life in motion. Walking? Working on It.
How often do I walk or run? Short answer: not as often as I should. On a good day I land between 6,000–8,000 steps just living life—teaching, errands, dog duty. Some days I don’t crack 5,000. Fall football season is … Continue reading

More Than Pushups: My 3-Part Strategy for Real Well-Being
Today’s question is pretty broad, but it’s worth considering: How do I take care of my health and well-being. It’s more than a fair question—and a big one—because “well-being” covers a lot more than just pushups and salads. (And if … Continue reading

My Complicated Relationship with Comfort Food
I’ve been thinking about the question, “What is your go-to comfort food?” For a long time, my honest answer would have been…”all of it.” For years, I was a classic stress snacker. Chips, crackers, cheese, leftovers—if it was available, I’d … Continue reading
