Honestly, I don’t know that I have a favorite place to go in Jacksonville. To be fair, I don’t know if I’ve ever had a favorite place to go in any place I’ve ever lived, and I’ve lived in pretty cool places like Atlanta, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Sarasota, Fla. I’ve had places I’ve loved, but not really any favorites.
That said, I’ve not found a place in Jacksonville that I absolutely love. There are cool places that are fun like Top Golf and the beach, but Top Golf is in a lot of cities, and I prefer the beach in places like Fort Walton Beach and Sarasota because of the soft, powdery white sand. We have a nice zoo in Jacksonville, but the zoo in Atlanta is a lot better. And the riverwalk in Jacksonville is scenic, but it’s not really unique and there’s not much to do there other than just walk along the river.
Maybe my favorite thing in Jacksonville is when I drive over the Fuller Warren Bridge and see the neon lights in the city to the left, including the Acosta Bridge. It’s really pretty, and it tends to make me smile. It’s not much, but it’s a view that’s unique to our city.
