In the era of the revolving door that is the modern country music chart, Morgan Wallen and his single, “Wasted On You,” is defying the trend by staying at No. 1 for the fifth consecutive week. In the 26 weeks before Wallen rose to the top, 16 different songs held the No. 1 position, and only two stayed there for three weeks. (One of those was Wallen’s previous No. 1, “Sand In My Boots.”)
“Wasted On You” was expected to be eclipsed this week by Scotty McCreery’s “Damn Strait,” which remained locked at No. 2 for the third week, but that song’s lack of streaming success was the deciding factor in its ranking. The remainder of the Top 5 was filled out by Kane Brown’s “Like I Love Country Music” (No. 3), Dylan Scott’s “New Truck” (No. 4) and Luke Combs’ “The Kind of Love We Make” (No. 5).
Here is the updated chart for the week of July 27, 2022. Each song is linked to its official video on YouTube, where possible. To listen to the full playlist of these songs, visit our page on Spotify.
