Doing More of What Matters

When I stop and ask myself what I could do more of, a handful of things jump to the front of my mind.

First, exercise. I need to be in better health, and moving my body consistently is a big part of that. Along with that is sleep. I try to do too much late at night, and it catches up with me. Health is too important to neglect.

I could also do more to stay in touch with friends. It’s amazing that with all the technology we have to stay connected, I don’t use it nearly enough. A call, a text, or a shared cup of coffee goes a long way, and I could make more time for that.

Then there’s reading books. This one’s hard because it requires time — and time feels like the most precious commodity. But I want to be a great writer, and that means spending more hours with people who already are.

And at the very core, I could do more to pray and read the Bible. If I want to be more like Christ, then I need to spend more time with Him — in His Word and in prayer. Without that, everything else is just self-improvement. With it, life becomes transformation.

So yes, there’s a lot I could do more of. And it starts with choices I can make today.

What about you? What could you do more of?
