Quick Thought – Tuesday, October 22, 2024: Invest in Love

Read

Ephesians 5:22-33

This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
John 14:3

This advertisement appeared in the classified section of a big-city newspaper:

For sale: one 52-year-old husband. Never remembers anniversaries, birthdays or special days. Seldom holds hands, hugs, kisses or says, “I love you.” Rarely is kind or tender. Will sell cheap. Two cents. Call 555-0366. Will dicker.

Love is a large personal investment, whether it’s your mate, your children, your neighbor or Jesus. Those who invest little receive little. Likewise, those who invest much receive great returns.

Whether it’s the love of a husband or wife, a child or a friend, when Jesus is in the middle of the relationship, it will be priceless.
