Today, I posted the 1,000th post to “From the Capn’s Pen.” It’s hard to believe that I’ve written that much, and most of it has come in the past year. During that time, we also added more than 200 percent more followers to the blog — and that gladdens my heart!

I know that I cover a lot of ground on this site — movie reviews, TV listings, college football, current events. I enjoy writing about those things, but my real passion is worship — through both music and the Word. I have no doubt that God created each of us to be in a relationship with Him, and my daily posts are offered as a way to help you improve that relationship (or to establish a relationship if there isn’t one already). Honestly, when I re-read the things I’ve read, they challenge me at least as much as I hope they challenge each of you. I’m not an expert — just a work in progress.

So, thank you for choosing to read and/or follow this site. Please share it with others who might need a word of joy or inspiration (or who might like a different take on a movie or a football prediction). And please let me know about the things the Lord is doing in your life, and also contact me if there is something you think I could write an article about.
