As many of the songs on the Christian Top 40 chart are moving up and down to some degree, Crowder’s grip on the top spot only grew more firm as his “Good God Almighty” held on to No. 1 the fourth straight week. “Help Is On the Way (Maybe Midnight)” by tobyMac eased up one spot to No. 2, while Zach Williams’ “Less Like Me,” Phil Wickham’s “Battle Belongs” and MercyMe’s “Say I Won’t” rounded out the rest of the Top 5.
Two songs fell significantly – Danny Gokey’s “New Day” (down eight to No. 24) and Jeremy Camp’s “Out of My Hands” (down 23 to No. 35) – and are likely only a week or two from exiting the chart. Meanwhile, only three songs made significant jumps of four or more spots. “All Things New” by Big Daddy Weave was a big mover for the second straight week and jumped another four places (No. 24 to No. 20). “No Hopeless Soul” by Stephen Stanley also moved up four places (No. 27 to No. 23). And Tasha Layton’s “Look What You’ve Done” was the week’s biggest mover, leaping five spots from No. 35 to No. 30.
Four songs made their debut this week, paced by “Until Grace” – a collaboration between Tauren Wells and Rascal Flatts – which shot into the chart at No. 21. The other three entries were “Rest On Us” (No. 36) and “Move Your Heart” (No. 39), both by Maverick City Music, and “Somebody” by Zoe Worship (No. 40). “My Jesus” by Anne Wilson re-entered the chart at No. 34 after a few weeks away.
