My daughter has a knack for giving me some of the best gifts ever. Part of that is that I know that she gets creative, so even when she doesn’t have much money, the things she gives me tend to be pretty special. All of those gifts have meant so much to me that I’ve ended up making sure they end up in places of honor, whether at work or at home. Everywhere I look, I can see my daughter and her love and generosity toward me.
A couple of Christmases ago, she went way over and above. It was an expensive gift, so my wife helped with the cost, but the end result is what you see in this post. She sent four photos to an artist who created a custom image that included me, my daughter, her infant son and my mother, who died in 2007. It’s an unbelievable painting that now hangs in my living room. Every time I look at it, I think of the three of them and the importance each one holds in my life. And I remember my daughter, who is probably the best gift-giver I’ve ever known.
