It’s really hard to say what my life will be like in three years. I’ve learned not to fantasize about things and to just live. But I’ve also always believed that we need to have dreams and goals. Otherwise, we don’t really succeed because we aren’t striving toward something meaningful.
So, without indulging in fantasy, these are my goals for my life three years from now:
- I will have been teaching for 10 years by then. Whether or not I’m ever nominated for Teacher of the Year, I want to have developed into the type of teacher who is worthy of that level of respect.
- I’ve been officiating football for a couple of years. By 2027, I want to develop into an official who can be considered for playoff crews.
- By 2028, I’d like to sell our condo and buy a house in a nice neighborhood.
- Within the next year, I want to reach my goal weight, and over the following two years to maintain that and get into solid physical condition.
- I’ve written my first novel, but I’ve yet to begin editing it. I want to publish it within the next year and write two more novels within three years. I’d like for everyone reading this to buy each of those novels and encourage at least a dozen friends to do the same.
Those are the goals. I plan on printing those out and putting them in places where I’ll see them regularly. Remind me in a year and I’ll let you know how things are going.
